Worshipful Master’s Message

Brethren of Skerrett Lodge No. 343,

Our next Stated Meeting on Tuesday, October 6th, is our annual Past Masters night, and I want to encourage all of us to make a real effort to be there.

As fall sets in, it’s a good time to reflect on what built this lodge. Everything we enjoy at Skerrett — our traditions, our building, and our culture — was shaped by the men who served in the East before us. In a very real way, they drew the blueprints of our history. Some of those brothers have passed on, but their hard work still supports everything we do today. Others are still sitting right beside us on the sidelines every month, continuing to give their time and steady wisdom.

For our newer and younger brothers, our Past Masters are a resource you simply can’t get out of a book or a ritual monitor. They carry the living memory and experience of our lodge. Having them in the room to share their stories, offer advice, and help guide the next generation is how we keep Skerrett Lodge strong and true to its roots.

We will also be serving a meal of oyster stew and vegetable beef soup for the evening, giving us a great chance to sit down and enjoy each other’s company. Please mark October 6th on your calendar. Let’s fill the room, catch up with old friends, and show our Past Masters — both past and present — just how much their service means to all of us.

Fraternally yours,
